1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, accessing, or using the Briefly mobile application ("App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use our App.

Briefly is a personal assistant application that allows you to record audio, receive transcriptions, and get AI-powered insights and answers based on your recordings.

2. Description of Service

Briefly provides the following services:

  • Audio recording capabilities within the app
  • Automatic transcription of your audio recordings
  • AI-powered analysis and question-answering based on your content
  • Personal data storage and management
  • Subscription-based premium features

3. User Accounts and Registration

To use Briefly, you must create an account by providing:

  • A valid email address
  • Your name

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree to use Briefly only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You agree not to:

  • Record any content that is illegal, harmful, threatening, or violates the rights of others
  • Use the service to harass, abuse, or harm others
  • Attempt to reverse engineer, hack, or compromise the security of the App
  • Share your account credentials with others
  • Use the service for commercial purposes without our written consent
  • Record conversations without proper consent where required by law

5. Subscription and Billing

5.1 Subscription Plans

Briefly offers subscription-based premium features. Subscription details, including pricing and features, are displayed within the App and may be updated from time to time.

5.2 Billing and Payment

Subscriptions are billed in advance on a recurring basis (monthly or annually, depending on your selected plan). Payment will be charged to your chosen payment method through your device's app store (Apple App Store or Google Play Store).

5.3 Cancellation and Refunds

You may cancel your subscription at any time through the App's settings. To cancel:

  • Open the Briefly app
  • Go to Settings
  • Select "Subscription Management"
  • Choose "Cancel Subscription"

Cancellation will take effect at the end of your current billing period. You will continue to have access to premium features until the end of the paid period. No refunds will be provided for partial billing periods.

5.4 Auto-Renewal

Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled before the renewal date. You can turn off auto-renewal at any time through your app store account settings or within the Briefly app settings.

6. Content Ownership and Rights

You retain ownership of all content you create, record, or submit through Briefly. By using our service, you grant us a limited license to process, store, and analyze your content solely for the purpose of providing our services to you.

We do not claim ownership of your recordings, transcriptions, or any insights generated from your content. All content remains your property.

7. Account Termination and Data Deletion

You may delete your account at any time directly from within the Briefly app. When you delete your account:

  • All your personal data will be permanently deleted from our servers
  • All recordings and transcriptions will be permanently removed
  • Your subscription will be cancelled
  • This action cannot be undone

We may also terminate your account if you violate these Terms or engage in prohibited activities.

8. Privacy and Data Protection

Your privacy is important to us. Our collection and use of your information is governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. By using Briefly, you consent to the collection and use of your information as described in our Privacy Policy.

9. Disclaimers and Limitations

Briefly is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee:

  • 100% accuracy of transcriptions or AI-generated responses
  • Uninterrupted or error-free service
  • That our service will meet all your requirements
  • The security of data transmission over the internet

You acknowledge that AI-generated content may contain inaccuracies and should not be relied upon as professional advice.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Briefly and its affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, use, or other intangible losses resulting from your use of the service.

11. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify users of material changes through the App or by email. Your continued use of Briefly after such modifications constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

12. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of Briefly will be resolved through binding arbitration or in the courts of competent jurisdiction.
